Good news... my San Diego peeps. I'm moving back to the San Diego area, offering massage therapy services as soon as the pandemic subsides. I will most likely be somewhere in North County. As soon as I get settled I will let you know. Please let me know your thoughts. ~ JeanieGood news... my San Diego peeps. I'm doing what I need to do to take care of my health, so I'll be Temporarily out on medical leave through the end of January. Sorry for any inconvenience, but I should be back in February. Reiki as a form of Prayer. I have noticed that some Religious People (not all thankfully) have been calling various things they don't easily understand, such a...s Reiki, "witchcraft" for a long time now; especially things that may bring about what appear to be a magical or supernatural result, at least from an outside observers' view. As someone who grew up in a Christian home, and now for many years, have offered Reiki Healing, I'd like to share my thoughts. This type of thinking that comes to the conclusion Reiki must be witchcraft, seems to be completely based in fear of the unknown. However, for those who believe in Jesus, if you carefully read and observe what the example of Jesus taught, you might be more inclined to put much more energy into using the criteria of love rather than fear to determine what to avoid. For example; If I use Reiki to help someone heal, there are those fear base people who complain I am performing some kind of witchcraft, or perhaps even something that may be Satanic! Expressing this fear that there is some kind of evil at work. To me nothing could be further from the truth. I feel Reiki is a form if prayer combined with a type of laying on of hands. While l am in this prayerful state of mind, I feel closest to the source of love and all life. To me this is sacred. I often become quite aware of the various energy systems in the body of the person I am facilitating, my empathy and ability to feel the pain and suffering of my subject become heightened and often quit intense. I may share in feeling both their physical and emotional pain during a session. I frequently become aware of what areas of the body or energetic systems may need more assistance to regain balance, flow and ease. It feels like I'm being guided by the divine. I notice Reiki is energy that only flows through me with an intention of pure unselfish love... what some might call an Agape or a godly type of love, this is why I do not believe this practice should be rejected as evil. In fact, although this practice isn't attached to a specific religion, I believe it is also not incompatible with Christianity, or whatever Religious or spiritual belief system you ascribe to, as long as the philosophy you ascribe to is centered in LOVE. This is perhaps the most import point. Love facilitates healing, where as fear and hatred get squarely in the way of healing. It is true that Reiki generally goes beyond a simple prayer. After the initial prayer portion of reiki, my role often continues into hands on healing. Sometimes I incorporate breathing exercises and guided meditation as well to help facilitate healing. This experience involves partnering with the person for a time to facilitate the healing process. This method of healing may have much in common with the way Jesus and his disciples healed the sick. Of course it also may have much in common with other sincere spiritual healers of other faiths around the world through out the ages. Now just to be clear, there are also people out there, those who are phony. They actually feed on the fears, insecurities and hatred of their marks. Some even use the church pulpit to pretend to be sent from God, or use another healing modality for self glory, fame or wealth... but you can learn to identify these pretenders. True healing and messages of enlightenment always come from a place of love. If someone is using fear and hatred, praying on insecurities, jealousy and greed, these sound like the tools of a cult leader trying to manipulate you, possibly to fight against whomever they are holding up as the "enemy", and quite often for financial gain and power. This is a way to use you and control your behavior, and its not going to lead to a place of healing or peace. Just remember, if it does not come from a place of love, it is not the real deal. We do not have to fear those phonies. Just ignore them. Find those who support you. To me praying for someone who is sick or struggling with a difficult challenge, and offering Reiki healing for that person has so much in common. I usually do them simultaneously.... but with Reiki I take the process further. When a person prays for someone, there seems to be a fairly specific humble quiet meditative attitude taken. Often on a physical outward level this is demonstrated by a reverence in posture; a bowed head, sometimes kneeling or bowing the whole body, often with closed eyes, hands pressed together or folded, sometimes in the case of prayers asking for healing, hands may be placed on the person being prayed for.. Mentally there is an attitude of reverence, setting aside of our own earthly thoughts and troubles while asking for help, healing and guidance for this dear person who has come to us, from someone or something wiser, more loving, and more powerful than we are. To me that seems remarkably similar to what happens during a Reiki session. I start out by going into a reverent humble state of mind where I set aside any distraction of my own daily life. I assume a healing posture that allows me to be aware of the divine energy above me, below me and within me. I begin with my hands pressed together as people often do in prayer, often with closed eyes. I open up my heart and whole energy system to be respective, to allow the white light, the life force energy of pure unconditional love to flow into me and through me specifically into the person who needs healing facilitation. I do not magically heal someone myself. I am aware there is an intelligence, a deeply wise nature to the energy flow that I am only privileged to be a first hand witness to in this role. I become an instrument or antenna for the healing life force energy to flow through. The person receiving the energy must be a willing participant. This is not a spell being cast secretly on an unwilling target. This practice only works when the receiver chooses to receive it. Even if the person is very skeptical, if they choose to give the benefit of any doubt even a small open window, they may be open enough to give this a try and say yes to the energy. That is enough. Love will go where it is invited. However, if they choose to reject this loving energy, that is of course their prerogative. We are all in choice. Where does this energy come from? You may hear different words used to describe this energy; reiki, chi, ki, universal life force energy, white light, the breath of life, Holy Spirit, these are all just words that vary depending on your spiritual or cultural beliefs, but one common theme I have recognized is one of pure unconditional love. Some say the source of life and healing is the Universe, Mother Earth and Father Sky, The Creator or Source of all life. To me it is clear it is an all knowing love. Some claim "God is love." If this is true, I would say the this "god of love" is the very same one who both hears and answers our prayers and who sends healing energy through authentic energy healing sessions such as Reiki. Let's all practice more love today. If we all take out a few moments of time to simply quietly be in a state of unconditional love and gratitude each day, call it prayer, call it meditation call it offering Reiki to the world (at least those who choose to receive it) this could have a profoundly positive impact on our own life and those around us. Love and Light to all of my dear friends. See more

Don't just "try" to make something work. Having one foot in and one foot out is pure torture. Life is too short. If you're done, let it GO. However, if you're in... BE IN ALL THE WAY!
