School closures and social isolation have affected all students, but particularly those living in poverty. 63% of adults in our service area do not have a high school diploma. Now, the academic gap is widening, leaving many students behind. COVID-19 has already been attributed to a learning loss of 34% in reading and 56% in math for o...ur youth. 33% of families lack internet access for virtual school. All Peoples currently serves over 3,500 youth annually with our youth and community programs. These programs are designed to provide a safe space for our youth to grow. All Peoples FamilySource Center, in partnership with Broadway Federal Bank, is currently hosting Financial Literacy Workshops. Workshops aim to help families develop skills to create a personal budget plan and savings goals. Participants learn about savings platforms such as retirement accounts, savings accounts, CD accounts, etc. Participants who attend both workshops are eligible to partake in the Individual Development Account (IDA) program which rewards participants by matching their accounts. All workshops are facilitated by All Peoples FamilySource Financial Coach Jonathan Vergara and Jose Figueroa of Broadway Federal Bank. #AllPeoples #FSC

Youth Disaster Preparedness Workshop! Youth of all ages, please join us along with the Red Cross and special guest speaker Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard this Wednesday, March 19th from 4:30pm- 5:30pm. We will be discussing Earthquake Preparedness, Home Fire Prevention, and COVID safety. Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard will also conduct a Q&A session with our youth. Zoom info is on the flyer. Our Spring 2021 College Preparedness Parent Workshops have launched! All Peoples' YouthSource Center in collaboration with Los Angeles Unified School District is currently hosting a 5-week parent workshop series to help parents navigate college requirements for their youth.
