Condors are on a roll! On Friday, students duct taped their beloved PE teachers, Mr. Brodt and Mr. Petrosian, to raise funds for Pennies for Patients. This month long campaign benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Condors are showing PRIDE by having raised $3,090.00 thus far... Let’s see what we can do by February 28th. Special thanks to ASB for coordinating the event.

Join us for our Blizzard Extravaganza dance this Thursday, January 16th from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. Tickets go on sale on Monday. Students must meet academic and citizenship eligibility in order to attend. See flyer for additional information.

Condors commit to kindness! ASB launched our KINDNESS WEEK campaign with various activities to promote small acts of kindness. Activities included a Getting to Know You scavenger hunt, Kindness Starts with Me Bingo challenge, Shout-Out poster and A Pledge to Kindness (No Place for Hate). We hope that this week’s launch will promote kind deeds throughout the year and make KINDNESS the norm at Alamitos.

We had our Cherrydale Fundraiser kick-off today! 100% of the profits go directly to student events such as homeroom competitions, assemblies, dances, Condor PRIDE celebration days and many more! Fundraiser ends on October 11. More information can be found in the packets distributed today. Students can win many prizes, including attendance at a mega party and a trip to Boomers. Please support our Alamitos fundraiser!

Alamitos sends warm regards to our families who supported Back to School Night this past Thursday. Parents and guardians had the opportunity to learn about our recent accomplishments, as well as visit classrooms. Our teachers had the opportunity to share their expectations and instructional goals. Our energetic and hard working ASB were available to help families, and our PTO rounded out the support with a food and beverage fundraiser. We want to specially recognize and thank Board Member, Mrs.Terri Rocco, for joining us that evening. We always enjoy her attendance at our school events.

Our excellent Condors had an opportunity to redeem their PRIDE tickets during Friday’s Condor Nest. The Nest is an incentive store where students can exchange well-earned tickets for yummy treats such as hot chips, full-size candy bars and ice-cold drinks. Many thanks to Ms. Becerra, Ms. Kovich, Ms. Thomson and Ms. Vu for their support on Friday. Of course, the Nest would not be up and running without our efficient and fabulous ASB! Condors Fly with PRIDE!

Condors FLY with PRIDE! Students had a great time today learning about PRIDE: Purpose, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination and Excellence! Each period focused on a PRIDE trait and students had an opportunity to participate in engaging activities led by our fabulous teachers. ... A pizza party picnic helped launch the afternoon of festivities - complete with a DJ, dancing and a variety of games. Some students even had the luck of soaking their teachers in a water balloon toss. We’re confident that our Condors will FLY with PRIDE this school year. A special thank you to our PBIS team for planning the day: Ms. Becerra, Mrs. Davis, Ms. Kovich, Mr. Petrosian, Mrs. Sam and Ms. Vu. Of course, this day would not be possible without the help and support of our Alamitos teachers. They are an everyday model of PRIDE.

The first week of school has started on a smooth note. Thank you to ASB and our teachers for providing a warm welcome to our new 7th graders and returning 8th graders.

We hope you are enjoying your last few weeks of summer. We miss our Condors and are looking forward to meeting our new 7th graders.
