In keeping with the holiday spirit of , YULA Girls put out a call to our alumni inviting THEM to be our teachers for the night! 7 of our alumni (and a bonus husband YULA Boys Alum) shared beautiful Divrei Torah about the upcoming holiday of Purim with ideas spanning topics such as: Simcha, our personal relationship with Hashem and how we see that in the Megillah, who WAS Charvona, the strong women of the Megillah, the powerful meaning behind Mishloach Manot, not ...looking at the world through the eyes of mikre/chance, and using Purim as the light in the darkness. What incredible nachas it was for YULA staff to see their students from LA, NY, and Eretz Yisrael so eloquently share their words of Torah with our community. As Ms Gadish said it best, I’m so excited about the future of the Jewish people! Thank you to all who shared and all who came!

Last night YULA Girls had the honor and privilege of partnering with the OU and participating in the OU Women’s Initiative’s new program for high school aged young women - InfluenceHer! Thank you to our very own Meira Ives '22 for creating the spark for this amazing new program. With a cohort of 23 YULA students joining over 12 other cohorts from across North America, we got to meet three of Judaism’s biggest superwomen...Sivan Rahav Meir @sivanrahavmeir , Beatie Deutsch @mar...athonmother and Estee Ackerman @frestee who are all women who found their passion and took it all the way, be it in Israeli national journalism, professional and medal winning running , and olympic qualifying ping pong! They spoke about breaking barriers, balancing their Jewish values with pursuing their dreams, and how to find your passion. We hope that these influencers’ message inspired the young women watching to find their passion and have the strength to pursue it! Stay tuned for our next one in March with a focus on community leadership!
