Due to the power outage in Yucaipa, our hospital is closed for today, Monday Oct 26th. Our computer system and phone lines are down, so we cannot reach out clients with appointments scheduled for today. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Our hospital took a break from social media when COVID first hit, but we are back to share the story of little Starfire! This little baby lost her home in the #eldoradofire. She fought for her life and escaped the burning home that her brothers and sisters could not escape. She was found in a box and brought into our clinic by her loving and heroic new mom. While the normal body temperature of a cat is 100-102F, her temperature was 106.3F when admitted into the hospital. He...r little whiskers were burnt off and her nose raw. All four paws have severe burns and missing skin. Her new mom made her comfortable by bandaging her paws until she could come into the hospital, and from there our team worked quickly to bring down her temperature, ensure her lungs were not severely damaged, and administer pain relief. Through the fever and pain and fear, Starfire never stopped talking to our staff, as you can see in the secons photo. Her spirits are high and she is getting stronger everyday. While her road to recovery will be long, she is one of the few strong survivors of the fire, thanks to her mom. She will go home to her new loving family and live a life full of love and appreciation. During this time where disaster is near, remember that compassion goes a long way and if you find an animal in need, they will forever appreciate your kindness. When social distancing, one must be creative! Share with us some ways you and your fur babies are getting creative while socially distancing. This is one of our favorites!

San Bernardino County now requires anyone leaving home to wear a face mask. Please remember this when visiting our hospital. Those caught not wearing masks could be fined up to $1,000. Though masks are required, frequent hand washing and social distancing are far more effective ways to combat the spread of COVID-19. Stay safe!
