Written by a restaurant owner: As I walk into the grocery store with 30 other people at the same time, I think about my restaurant which allows parties of 6 total, and meticulously spaces out reservations by 10 minutes ensuring guests that aren’t from the same party do not arrive at the same time. As I take a cart, that has had just the handle sanitized, I think about my restaurant which invested thousands of dollars (so far) on ink and paper to print disposable menus to ensure no two guests touch the same menu. As I walk over to the produce aisle with 15-20 other people around me, I’m reminded of the strict no mingling / no walking around the restaurant other than to use the washroom or enter/exit policy we have in place and the 6ft distance between tables which has cut our capacity in half. As I watch the woman next to me pick up apples with her hand, check them over closely and then put them back on the open pile and repeats this until she finds the perfect apples the same thing that all other people that day who want an apple will then do and then put those apples into their mouths, I think about the two step sanitation process in place at my restaurant for all cutlery and dishes and glassware in between every single guest, and the sanitation of every surface guests touch (tables, chairs, salt and pepper shakers, etc). As I watch the man in the next aisle over ignore or not notice the directional arrows on the ground, I think about my restaurant and the constant redirecting our staff does of guests - by locking certain doors, blocking areas off and the work my team does to simply not allow guests to walk where they are not supposed to. As I walk down the cereal aisle, I see a person with their mask off so they can talk on the phone, and I’m reminded of my restaurant where our masking policy has lost us so much business. As I check out at the cashier, I use my debit card to pay and see the plastic film covering the terminal. It was not sanitized after the person before me used it. I am reminded of the sanitizer used on the debit terminals in between each guest every time at my restaurant. As I stand at a crowded exit trying to leave, I’m reminded of the detailed contact tracing in place at my restaurant that records the name, phone number, table number, arrival and exit time, as well as the server and section the guest sat in that is in place at my restaurant not one of those pieces of information was taken from any customer here. As I get into my car and watch all these people leave the store, I wonder which person will visit my establishment after contracting covid at this grocery store, and I wonder why on earth my restaurant will be blamed as the source. Restaurants are being targeted as the source of Covid infections because we are one of the ONLY industries required to provide contact tracing. Someone with Covid could have gone to Costco, Home Depot, Walmart, the Mall food court....any grocery store, etc. Yet it’s the restaurant that took their detailed information that will be forced to close and deemed responsible for the infection. You want to blame restaurants for the spread after thousands of dollars investing in equipment, training and stricter policies than ANYWHERE ELSE?! PROVE IT #saverestaurants

Our congress in Washington: the corruption is scary. We the people elected the politicians in Washington. I hope we can clean it up in future elections. The co...vid relief bill that stalled for 8 months. For Americans and small businesses. Look at the hundreds of millions for non Americans, and for foundations. Only $600 for most Americans. God bless America! We all need to do our homework during elections.

Here we go city council, county supervisors and local judges. Push back to our dictator Governor. Our community is falling Apart. Small businesses can’t operate..., but are pressured by landlords. It’s not the landlords fault, it is the government who is failing. 100%. Is half the businesses going to be closed permanently before elected officials fight for their city, and county. Call your elected officials and tell them enough is enough. Open California safely.

The good people of Fresno county, and central California : When our elected officials from the city, county, and State make terrible decisions against the Ameri...can people, use your voice and votes to make change. The past 6 plus months have really tested the will and strength of our valleys businesses and people. Legislators have over umpowered them self’s and have made decisions and have decided which businesses can remain open and which must close. No true accurate data that supports the closures. There is no common sense used, only inconsistent numbers, and skewed numbers. The rumor is our state may close our small businesses again, our employees will face unemployment and the small businesses will once again face closures and possibly permanently. You have a voice; google your city council members, county supervisors, and our States governor. Tell them if they continue to make terrible decisions regarding the people in central California, they will be voted out! The most important thing to a politician is re-election. If you don’t believe it ask them. Let them hear your voice, please do it now, tell your family and friends to call these politicians to make better decisions. A third closure makes zero sense! Central California will not stand for it! Please share.

Please share with as many people as possible. If you agree that elected officials should not punish small businesses for positive testing. We’ve been closed or ...partially closed during the biggest spikes of Covid 19. We are not the problem. Why only shut the small businesses? No more! There are many small businesses still closed, over 6 months, imagine how they are trying to survive. Please email or call your county supervisors and tell them it is unacceptable. Dear Fresno County We the founders of Open Fresno County Safely and our small business owners would like to thank you, our communities for supporting the people... (employees) and our small businesses. We are 20,000 strong in our group. Many business owners have been meeting; sharing ideas, reiterating safety guidelines, and future plans to support each other when code enforcement or the ABC violates our fundamental right to conduct a business without decimation. (Possibly 20,000 people) will bombard the agency, local elected officials, and Sacramento. We just demand the right to open, remain open and operate our businesses safely. Our county business owners have really bonded and will help any business that can use advise, offer ideas, or need assistance of any type. It could be as simple as offering ice to a business that has a broken ice machine, with our shut down for 6 months where do we get thousands for a new ice machine. (Fresno county Strong) Our goal was to open Fresno counties small businesses and put our community back to work. Sacramento and the state health department announced today that most small businesses could open today. The percentages don’t always make sense, but it is a start. There are a few small businesses that haven’t been cleared to open, why legislators continue to pick and choose who will be open and succeed and who will continue to suffer with very little DATA (If any) that supports their decision.
