#ThrowbackThursday - This is "Betsy": a 7-ton, 4-wheel cog-geared locomotive belonging to the Madera Flume and Trading Company, which began her service before the turn of the century. Being the first locomotive to serve the company, what Betsy lacked in power she made up for in increased mobility, allowing loggers to reach previously untouched timber sections with relative ease. Betsy's origins remain a mystery to this day.
