We hope everyone is doing well. Please consider registering for classes in the Park Management, Aviation (Drone Program), and Geospatial Technology. It is important to get the registrations done early so classes do not get canceled. Also here are two classes from the Biology Department that go well with our program as well. If you have any questions please contact me: [email protected].
Would you like to help elevate our diverse community? Would you like to learn about the natural world around you? Did you know that volunteering is an excellent... way to get to know the profession of teaching people about nature, in addition to gaining valuable experience for future employment? It is important that everyone feel welcome and the best way to do this is for our community to see people who represent them volunteering and working in nature education. We would love your help reaching our goals of providing guided hikes and experiences for first-time park visitors. You don’t need any experience to volunteer with us. You don’t have to decide now. Join us for our first virtual volunteer orientation and training on Saturday November 14, 2020 at 10:00am. Come learn about Saved By Nature and see if you would like to become part of creating new opportunities for people of color from our wonderfully diverse community. Register at www.savedbynature.org/volunteer #nature #bipocoutdoors #rethinkoutside #redesignoutdoorspaces #breakingnarratives #volunteer #ally #atpromiseyouth

To our park family, Heidi and Eric McFarland have lost their house and everything in it. They are looking for a place to live in the greater San Jose Area 3/2 that will allow pets. It needs to be near a good school so they can get their kids in school. If you have any recommendations send them to me and I will forward them to Heidi. Also a recovery fund has been established for the family. My contact info is [email protected]. Thanks for your help! https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8rUADI1WyI
Good Afternoon Everyone, Here is a class from the Biology Department that might be interesting for you! I hope everyone is doing well. Chris
Apparel is now here!! Get them while they last! This is a fundraiser effort, hats are $25-30 suggested donation, patches are $5-10, and stickers are $2-5. Sliding scale since we know some of you are students, and others are working professionals. Paypal and venmo accepted, contact Heidi McFarland.
Good Morning Everyone, We hope everyone is doing well. We are looking to having you in class this semester. We will be having our Career Programs Orientation Night virtually August 26, 2020. We still have two classes that are under enrolled. PMGT 11 Park Communications Section 77105 with 7 students and Park Operations Lab Section 71214 with 5 students. These two classes are only offered once a school year. It is important for us to get these classes up to double digit enrollment or they will be cancelled. We have until the week before school on August 24 to see these numbers change. Please take the time to register if you have time in your schedule. Our whole Park Management Team welcomes you to the fall semester! Heidi and Chris
Good Evening Everyone, I hope everyone is doing well. Our fall orientation for the CHE School of Professional Studies will be virtual on August 26, 2020. Please make sure you register and enroll in classes. We have two classes that need more students enrolled to be maintained for Fall Semester both are required classes in our program. PMGT 11 Park Communications and PMGT 21 Park Operations are the low-enrolled classes. If you plan on registering do so as soon as you can. Thanks, Chris and Heidi
Good Afternoon everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. Given our current situation there has never been a better time or greater need to take care of our public lands and all those who visit them. This is both an environmental and social justice issue. We are in a unique situation with the program now to be offering all of our fall classes on-line if the situation allows we hope to be getting out in the field in at least three classes PMGT 15A, PMGT 12A and PMGT 21. If you intend to take classes please make sure you register as soon as possible to prevent any course cancellations. We look forward to having you in class this fall.
Hard to find good news these days...

Hi Everyone, We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe! We have finished another semester. Congratualtions to our graduating students! You have worked very hard and we are looking forward to hearing about your future successes! For all of you Alumni of the West Valley College Park Management, Geospatial and Aviation (UAS) Programs, we have attached a survey that will help keep track of our graduates and former students. This survey will also map your current park or p...ublic land location. Help us create a map of our graduates and former students. Please click on the link below and take a few minutes to complete this survey. Even if you are not working for a public land agency let us know what you are doing and where you are.
