It's the last week of the All-In Back to School Campaign! Donate Today and help students like the Gallegos family! https://www2.palomar.edu//foundation/all-in-back-to-school/ Meet the Gallegos Family: Images of college students taking online classes at home often assume there is one student and high-speed internet service. In the Gallegos household, six people (including one parent) are taking online classes; three are Palomar College students in need of our assistance. The ...need for the Gallegos family to have high-speed internet became a reality with the transition to remote learning. Yet the financial burden presents a barrier as they return back to school. These students are the future of our communities and aren’t asking for a lot. Just a chance to have the tools they need to pursue their Palomar education. I have endured many hurdles already with trying to complete college and I'm hoping this is another I can face and conquer. Tatiana I know any assistance with this grant will help in so many ways. I would be beyond thankful because I know I would be able to continue my journey not only through Palomar College but to transfer to a four-year university to accomplish my goal of a law degree. Carlos If I can be provided any help at all, I know I will be able to do everything I need to pass without a worry. I would be very thankful of this, thank you. Marissa

Join us in supporting students like Edgar as we go Back to School at Palomar College! Edgar was recently released from the Vista Detention Facility. During his time incarcerated, he took classes through Palomar College and was then introduced to the Transitions Program. The Transitions Program provides previously incarcerated individuals a smooth transition from the criminal justice system to Palomar College. This includes the tools, resources and community connections to hel...p students succeed. A laptop computer and textbook assistance provided by the Foundation made it possible for Edgar to go back to school as a Palomar College student this fall. With the classes he took while in jail and through the Transitions Program this summer, Edgar already earned 25 units with a 3.88 GPA. He’s well on his way to his goal of transferring to earn his Bachelor’s Degree. Your assistance means so much to me and I can’t even start to express my gratitude. Thank you for giving me the opportunity and the chance to further my education through a time of hardship and necessity but also through a time of change. Change for my future, change for my kids, and change for myself. Having people who believe that there is still hope for individuals like myself who have been incarcerated has made me realize that, this does not define who I am. Edgar D. Back to School means something different this year. School isn't just a place, it's a commitment to learning. But it can be impossible for many Palomar College students who face barriers by not having a proper computer, internet or textbooks. Help us remove these barriers for the thousands of Palomar College students heading back to school during these challenging times. Be ALL-IN by donating today to our Back to School campaign! https://www2.palomar.edu//foundation/all-in-back-to-school/
