Leslie has served with Windows in many capacities over the years volunteer, team member, and donor. Today, she shares a little about her passion for animals and helping those who struggle with mental health challenges who often suffer unseen. I am wired with a passion for animals, and although my early plans to become a veterinarian were short-circuited, I completed the college coursework and state licensing necessary to become what, at the time, was commonly called a C...ertified Animal Veterinary Technician. This veterinary medical education has certainly served me well throughout my critter-filled life! Horses have been a part of my life since I was eight years old, when the tooth fairy gifted me with a little brown pony named Nutmeg. Who absolutely terrified me! Sharing and supporting the powerful healing that can result for Windows’ clients as they learn how to create healthy relationships with a horse has been a uniquely powerful and humbling experience for me, and one that I continue to benefit and learn from as well. Collectively, the group of people who are Windows To My Soul and who manifested a passion and a cause by founding and sustaining this organization are among the best I have ever known. I am both proud and honored to stand beside them in whatever way I can. I am also blessed to call them my friends.
Wonderful job Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference! Creating a fundraiser even with the many limiting factors brought on by the pandemic to benefit domestic violence survivors.
Today we’d like you to meet Jennifer Sands. Jennifer fostered Great Pyrenees dogs for 12 years and was once a bartender in St. Louis. She supports our mission here at Windows as a donor, and we’re very thankful for her support. Jennifer says that with covid and political unrest, a lot of people are suffering. Add trauma from military service, and you have a recipe for disaster. We are only as healthy as a nation as our most vulnerable citizens. [Windows] does great work with underserved populations. I have horses and know, as someone once said, that the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a person.
