Our Landscape Architecture Department has a few tips from our experts to share for this dry summer! 1. Slowly and deeply water your trees. 2. Place a hose running at a very slow rate, and move it around the drip line of the tree (or as close as you can get) every 6 hours or so. ... The diagram shows the ideal watering zone (just remember the drip line is around the circumference of the tree). It will take a few days to saturate the tree’s root zone, but roots will be watered, there won’t be runoff, and valuable shade will be preserved. Follow us for more tips!

Integrating 146-year Artisan History with Artistry into our Projects... John Nicolaus, Wood Rodgers Principal Landscape Architect, got exciting updates on design elements for our Turkey Creek project! Turkey Creek is an Elliott Homes Community located in Lincoln, CA. Gladding, Mcbean are the artisans who creating these custom units and is one of two remaining architectural terra cotta manufacturers left in the USA. Their team of artists and artisans are creating these elements which will enhance the aesthetics of the whole community, linking it with Lincoln’s rich history. Pictures were taken today by Luis Becerra at Gladding, McBean. Rigoberto Varela is shown below in the middle of the units. He presses 100% of the units and molds for Gladding McBean. Wood Rodgers, Inc. is providing master planning and landscape architecture to optimize the Town of Gardnerville's existing parks, resources, and assets. The Town currently owns and operates four public parks including Heritage Park, Gardner Park, Arbor Gardens, and Carrick Park. Included as a part of this project is also the Martin Slough Open Space Area. For the most part, these parks do not currently offer any amenities and are primarily used for passive recreation. Wood Ro...dgers evaluated park amenities to determine gaps that could be fulfilled along with reviewing proposed developments to determine any master plan buildout deficiencies. Wood Rodgers has completed the conceptual renderings for the parks that are now out for public review. Wood Rodgers’ landscape architects developed a unique historic themed playground area to highlight the rich history of Gardnerville and the Heritage park. A workshop is planned on Tuesday, September 29 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Douglas County Community and Senior Center in the Grandview Room.
