Book recommendation: When Stars are Scattered. I had been waiting for this book to come out for a year. It’s the true story of a Somalian refugee and his non-verbal brother living with their foster mother in a refugee camp in Kenya. It’s illustrated and co-authored by Victoria Jamieson of Roller Girl fame. I dare you not love this book. My 10 year old devoured it in one day and I read it to my 7 year old in a week. It’s a bit text heavy for a graphic novel so it feels like it’s geared more towards the older child but my youngest loved it. It’s amazing! This is great! My kids loved drawing class today. And she’s from Sac. She has free classes everyday.
