Borrego heads to Washington

I would like to take this time to thank everyone for their participation in National Influenza Week and for promoting the flu vaccine to our patients and staff. Each year we see many hospitalized due to the complications of influenza. Although many of us think that the flu can never harm us, there are those for whom contracting the flu virus can be deadly. Be sure to help protect high risk patients by being immunized with the flu vaccine today!

Spread the Word! December 6-12, 2015 is National Influenza Vaccination Week! Influenza is a respiratory illness that is contagious and can easily be passed from person to person when people cough, sneeze or talk, and affects the nose, throat, and lungs. A flu shot is recommended for everyone 6 months of age or older. Being vaccinated against influenza is the first step in protecting yourself, a patient, family member, or another co-worker from passing around the flu virus. Va...ccination of high risk individuals is especially recommended, as contracting the influenza virus for these individuals can be life-threatening and/or cause other serious complications. Because Borrego Health has many high risk patients throughout its population, and cares about the safety of each patient, flu vaccines are mandatory at Borrego Health.
