Hello my beloved community, I am sharing a flier regarding a Timber Harvest plan that is planned to happen very close to our neighborhood in Dunsmuir. Not onl...y will this continue to impact local wildlife habitat, but will NOT improve fire risk and may very well exacerbate it. It could also increase flood risk for the south Dunsmuir area. In short, deforestation is a BUMMER. But, we have community and a loud collective voice. Please take the time to make a public comment using the information provided in the attached flier. The last day for public comment is June 30th, so please make sure to send it over ASAP. You do not have to live in Dunsmuir to do this. Please forward this flier widely! Thanks for your support!

As I was growing up, my father Jerry made me see the importance in going out in the country to get our own food. I shot my very first reindeer when I was 9 yea...rs old with the help of my father. He taught me everything there is to know about butchering animals for food. My main diet are the animals I catch from the land and sea. If you ever stop by my house, there is always a conversation about reindeer herding and corral because that’s what I grew up doing, it's what my father grew up doing, and it’s what his father did. Reindeer herding has always been big in Teller [Alaska] and I want to keep it going for years to come. To me, it’s fun being around reindeer, to be so close to them is exciting. Cameron Okbaok is Inupiaq living in Teller, Alaska.

Keystone XL (TC Energy) has thrown in the towel! What I love most is seeing all the pipeline fighter posts today announcing the news! These are just a handful ...of the dedicated water protectors who went to countless hearings, attended countless conference calls, organized rallies and marches and actions who built a campaign that truly changed the climate movement overall. The truest heroes in the victory against KXL are everyday people. Teachers, students, secretaries, singers, historians, bull riders and corn huskers. Lol From Canada to the Gulf of Mexico - everyday people resisted and stopped a multi-billion dollar corporation from threatening our future. Many fought, many got arrested, but none gave up. We beat this now onto the others! #StopLine3 #StopMVP #ShutdownDAPL #ShutDownLine5 Wopida to the people. Thank you. #NoKXL

While the Delta Smelt in the California Delta are now extinct, a smelt species in Aotearoa is collapsing as well.

We got all the salmon cut up, wrapped, in the new freezer and some in the smoker. Whew...it takes a village to do that ... Thank you Nur!

PSA. Indigenous ppl are weathering all storms that come upon our homelands. ALL OF THEM, there is no choice to "abandon" spirit and up and leave. If you feel l...ike you have that choice, then you should go wherever your permanent place is and start doing your work there. Better hurry too because there are more storms ahead and we are wondering if you're really gonna weather them with us and be in accordance with natural law as best as we can? We shall see. Prophecy says that when Bullyum Puyuuk (Mt.Shasta) has no snow on it, thats when you know. Its dried up multiple times now. Mt. Lassen as well. Watch out for Yellowstone too. #wayofthevolcanos #fireandice #biggerthanhumans #7generationsahead See more
