Say hello to Tucker! Tucker is the kookaburra ambassador that calls Wild Wonders home. As you can see in this picture Tucker is looking a little more fluffy than usual. There are many reasons for a bird ruffling their feathers, giving them a puffy appearance! Sometimes they will do this to remove any excess debris after preening. Or when a bird wants to warm up then will ruffle their feathers to trap in their body heat and keep out any cold air. They will also ruffle up their feathers to relax right before taking a nap. Like all animals, bird exhibit a wide range of behaviors and these are just a few reasons why you might see a puffy bird! You can visit Tucker and her friends here at Wild Wonders by booking a tour on our website! #tucker #kookaburra #wildwonders #ruffledfeathers #animalambassador #conservationeducation

Say hello to Jackson, our common marmoset ambassador! Common marmosets are found in the high tree tops of Brazil and where they eat fruits, seeds, flowers, and the occasional insect. They are the smallest of the true monkeys measuring at only 19 inches from head to tail! #jackson #commonmarmoset #marmoset #wildwonders #animalambassador #conservationeducation
Say hi to Lou, our owl monkey ambassador! Not much is known about these New World primates, mostly because they spend most of their time in the high tree tops at night, due to them being nocturnal. They are probably most known for their love life’s. Owl monkeys are one of the few animals that choose a mate for life and will only leave their mate if forced to do so. Pretty sweet if you ask me! #lou #owlmonkey #wildwonders #animalambassador #wildfactwednesday #conservationeducation

Wild Fact Wednesday: Meet Big Willy! Big Willy is a Egyptian Uromastyx, also known as a spiny-tailed lizard. These guys will use their large spiny tails as a defense mechanism against their predators. Similar to other lizard the uromastyx can detach their tail from their body if they need to get away, but will only do so if they absolutely need to since their tail is their main source of defense. #wildwonders #uromastyx #egyptianuromastyx #bigwilly #spinytailedlizard #animalambassador #conservationeducation
