Although reticulated pythons are legal to own as pets, it doesn't mean anyone can handle owning a snake that can weigh 100+ lbs. and grow over 20 ft long. Right now Daisy Mae is about 16 feet long.

Prairie dog picnic! These social rodents love spending time together, playing, and munching on biscuits and hay!
We still have a few available spots tomorrow, Monday, May 31 for our Adventure Tour where you can meet a sloth, feed a giraffe, feed a porcupine, and more!
Kina and Juneau are a couple of the many animals we are able to take on walks around the Center. Kina is pretty much an expert and will calmly stroll around the Center with her keepers. Juneau is still practicing and gets incredibly excited while out and is a little bit more rowdy.
Sage and Kodi are the best of buds. Bobcats and lynx are typically solitary animals but these two have a great bond with each other. You can usually see them napping or playing together.

Can you see the stars in Zeus’ eyes?
This is Blaze, our red eyed tree frog. Red eyed tree frogs have bright red eyes along with blue and orange coloration on their bodies that serve as a defense mechanism. They will open their eyes and spread their legs to show off their bright colors and startle a potential predator. This gives them just enough time to escape.
#ThrowbackThursday. This is Dakota, our bald eagle, when she was a juvenile. It typically takes about 4 to 5 years for bald eagles to fully develop the classic white head feathers we are accustomed to seeing.
Hibiscus flowers are one of Sid’s favorite treats.
Our gift shop has gone virtual! You can now purchase items through our website at www.wildlifelearningcenter.org under the Shop tab.
Monday Mood. GusGus is feeling lazy on this warm Monday morning. Did you know North American porcupines are the second largest rodent in North America? Any guesses of what rodent is the largest in North America?
