Whole Health Fitness 03.03.2021

Sunshine and movement are so nourishing to my soul. A big perk from the pandemic has been moving more outdoors, I absolutely love it and honestly can’t imagine ever going back to the gym. Years ago I did my first round of @whole30 and discovered that grains & legumes were the culprit for the massive amount of joint pain & inflammation I was suffering from. It was an easy decision, we had to break up. Adios, they were out But with that meant saying farewell to things that I loved....things like nachos Until I found @sietefoods Oh holy mother of God...SIETE you are amazing!!! I bow to you and your stupid good tortillas and grain free chips. While I don’t... eat them ALL the time it’s nice to have the option on taco night to make a plate of nachos for a change. Oh & did I mention their cashew queso dip??? Add that to your list as well! Not trying to promote just spreading the word that if you have food sensitivities and are limited to eating a certain way there are so many options out there!! SIETE is one of many incredible brands that I love and trust to make really good food that supports my body in all of the positive ways. If you haven’t tried them, check them out for sure!! Routines & traditions are staples to building a solid foundation to anything in life. Whether it’s with your career, school, fitness, health, family, relationships, having certain routines & traditions become something you can rely on, look forward to and help create consistency in your life to build on. Having shared custody with my kids make certain routines hard to follow but I try my best to keep the same consistency in our home when they’re with me. I cherish sharing me...als together. It’s such a connective, special time when we all show up at the table, screens off and share about our day. Ever since my boys started to talk we’ve played the high/low game at dinner & take turns talking about our high for the day and our low for the day. (Today they both said their high was seeing me. Hudson’s low was having to eat a pulled pork sandwich ) I talk a lot about consistency in health choices and with your workouts & movement but it truly matters in all areas of life. I haven’t been the best at sitting with my babies lately, things have been busy and we’ve been in a million different directions but this is our foundation that we’ve laid. It’s what we always come back to, at the table together, sharing highs and lows, laughing and eating

7 years ago I started out on a self-transformation journey that turned my entire world upside down and in the best way possible. Overweight, burnt out, fed up, inflamed, in pain, moody, irritable, on an ever lasting yo-yo diet, binge eating, restricting foods, working out, not working out but most of all sick & tired of it all. I felt lost inside and didn’t like the life that I was living. I had hit many bottoms physically & mentally before & here I was, once again at an a...ll time low. There was something I was missing and I was hell-bent on finding it. Only through what I truly believe to be divine intervention I found whole30. I found food freedom and for the first time I actually started to change my relationship with food. And let me tell you - my relationship with food was pretty damn toxic but I started to put in the work to make those changes. Not just change what I was eating but actually change how I looked at food, how I treated food & and most importantly, how I treated myself with food. My journey into nutrition, fitness, health and wellness hasn’t been perfect but nothing in life is! It’s about the process & the journey. It’s about showing up when you don’t want to, doing the work, recognizing your failures and doing better/different the next day. It’s about learning to connect with yourself on a much deeper level than just physically. It’s about loving yourself, honoring who you are, and keeping you’re commitment to yourself because you know you worth it!!! Repeat that last sentence - YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!! Each year I coach 3 whole30 groups one in January, April, and September. My January group this year was extra special. Coming out of 2020 (which was crazy town!!!) & starting a brand new year focusing on a complete physical and mental reset was so incredibly powerful. With all of the new stay at home orders coming down in California, I’ve felt the Covid wave of emotions coming on again. With such a great sense of powerlessness I made sure to tap into some extra fierceness today to help boost my mood. I started my first class today with a song - You are the motherfuckin shit! I swung my mace like a wild warrior with my @joya_yoga tribe this morning and every client I trained either punched, hit or kicked the crap out of something.
