Help Us Find Lost Local Treasure! The monument inside the Camp Far West cemetery walls (picture at left) was constructed by the Native Sons and Daughters of the Golden West in 1911 in honor of those who served our country at the Nation’s "Furthest West" army outpost. It originally housed four brass or bronze plaques inscribed with names and dates. In the 1950's, it is believed that someone in our community removed them to prevent further damage to them by vandalism. They were safely tucked away.....And now we don't know who had them, or where they put them. Can you help us find these historically significant relics?

This photo is from our "What is it?" column of the January 2021 Wheatland Historical Society member newsletter. Do you know what these items are? (FYI - Sorry, the museum is still closed.)
