The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has extended the eviction moratorium through the end of February as Covid-19 cases continue to rise and stay-at-home orders remain in place. The moratorium has been in effect since March, and was set to expire on January 31st. L.A. landlords are left trying to fill vacant units in a down economy as renters venture east for cheaper housing and/or more space. In Los Angeles County, the percentage of vacant apartments rose from 4.79% in the fourth quarter to 6.14% last week, Costar data shows.
