What an amazing day Giving Tuesday is!!! It is a day set aside to recognize the great work being done in our communities and to focus on generosity. We are honored to participate in such a noteworthy day of wholesale KINDNESS! This year our lives and plans have been turned upside down, along with the rest of you. Our focus has been on getting information and resources out, addressing the growing food insecurity on the Westside and coordinating collaborative services at a time... when doing so is challenging to say the least. We are getting ready to start the Trauma Informed trainings for Direct Service Staff members again in January and we are working hard to collaborate with agencies, faith and community groups, individuals and families, recognizing just how desperately we all need to work with each other. I rarely post articles that I read but this one is particularly compelling. The Westside Coalition is focusing on providing trauma informed trainings for Frontline Staff members- but not in the context of their clients, rather in the context of the staff member themself, experiencing trauma. It is a good read, worth the time if you have it. "If you are alive and aware in 2020, it’s important to remember that you are doing the absolute best that you can in a completely insane situation."

We are so grateful for all of the help that we received to be able to do the Celebrating Success Breakfast virtually this year. It is the 25th year of this event and we would venture to say that this year's event was perhaps the best one so far! We had the outstanding Director Gary Halvorson and Audrey Antis at the helm of this production, assistance from numerous previous emcees and other people important to this event, and the excellence of TSV Sound and Vision.
