I thought I was just starting my adult life. I’d finished college, I was gonna save up and buy a house and car, and it just feels like all those things aren’t as important in my life anymore.

Assyrian Church and Community Stand in Solidarity with Armenia and Artsakh with Present $45,000 Donation for Humanitarian Aid in Artsakh. Led by Cor-bishop Rev. George Bet-Rasho, Pastor of St. Mary's Assyrian Church of the East and Fr. Athanasis Tooma, representatives of Assyrian national organizations visited the Western Diocese on November 4, 2020 and met with the Diocesan Primate. ... The esteemed guests conveyed their full-fledged support of the displaced Armenian population of Artsakh and their commitment as Christians to raise awareness of the ongoing war crimes, to extend a fraternal hand and to ease the pain of the suffering Armenians in Artsakh. In a letter written to the Diocesan Primate, the Assyrian clergy and representatives wrote "Be assured of our prayers for the region of Artsakh and for the innocent civilians, that the Lord of peace might make His peace to reign in that region, and wipe every tear and remove every suffering." A $45,000 check in support of the Armenian community of Artsakh was also presented to the Primate. "Please accept this our gesture of goodwill as a token of our support for the civilians who are suffering most during this tragic times." Archbishop Derderian expressed his wholehearted gratitude to his brothers in Christ and to the representatives for the moving gesture, reflecting on the fraternal bond between the Armenian and Assyrian people in the common pursuit of justice.
