West Covina VFW Post 8620

I was honored to narrate in participate in this program. This is the short version of this story. She was a member of the West Covina v f w and the American Legion in West Covina. 3 days before she passed, she asked if I would give her eulogy. What an honor that was.

Can't believe it's been 12 years now. It is with great sadness to report that Luis "MANNY" Saca passed June 15th after a sudden stroke. Manny was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the ELKS in West Covina. Was a Commander of the VFW and presently their Quartermanster. Services are pending. For all that knew him, he was very special person. So long my friend, you will be missed.

Starting Friday October 30th, the VFW Post 8620 will be a voting location. You can come in person to vote, and you should be able to drive by and drop off your ballot if you like it. 2328 West Merced Avenue, West Covina. Across the street from the mortuary, that's where we keep our dead people.

Sorry that the state government will not let us open. We can rent the hall out for events, but cocktail lounge is restricted where veterans can not use it... but rental guests can. Looks like the state elected powers are trying to close down veterans organization... who are a voting body. We can't get together to discuss politics.

Thank you California Governor Newson for taking away Independence Day from the people. Good job, well done you idiot. Also, thank you for lifting the death penalty on well over 700 people that were on death row including cop killers. Because of you they can never, ever, be executed. When this topic was brought up, during your campaign after the people voted for the death penalty, you said you would support the will of the people. You are a liar. And without question. You wonder how people like this get voted into office. We vote people into office to represent us in to do what we say, not to do what you say. We didn't vote you into office two control us.

Join the VFW in West Covina for the fireworks show. Here's the deal. You can bring your own chair and sit out in the parking lot with the rest of us and watch those crazy idiots blow up West Covina. You can face in any direction. You will see some great illegal fireworks. We can actually open up the cocktail bar area so you can use the restroom. There's a patio out there but you really can't see anything if you're sitting under the patio. If you think this might be a fun thin...g to try to do, reply to this message so we can be ready for you. Do your own thing for your own personal safety. You know that distancing crap or wear a mask or whatever. Sadly you can't bring beer or distilled spirits on to the property but we do have it available at the VFW. We're too lazy to take it out to you so you'd have to come in and get it yourself and then take it outside. If you want to bring some munchies, go for it. VFW members are combat veterans so we do try to honor our country that we fought for. We lost March and April, now we will lose May and June. The VFW will lose $26,400 in hall rentals and over $16,000 in expected (average) cocktail bar sales because of the government shutdown. Questionable if we will survive if this continues... This is very sad... Our calendar for then next two months.
