This world can be truly amazing! It's a beautiful thing to be so closely interwoven with all other species. Large and small alike. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M18HxXve3CM

I was thinking a bit about a conversation I shared with my cousin the other day and there was something that has been sitting with me. Often times people have a negative connotation toward meditation, yoga, other nations, religions, THE UNKNOWN. (Not saying my cousin was negative in anyway, not the case, it just got me thinking.) Many have said(and asked) that(if) during meditation there is an "emptying" of the mind. It's not so much "emptying" as it is silencing. It's more o...f letting go of all the daily mind chatter. The "what ifs", all that you have to do before work, bills that need to be paid, lunch etc. When meditating it's more about learning how to BE in that exact moment, you, your body and breath. Than it is emptying your mind. Thoughts do come in and they are always welcomed. The trick is to not get carried away with the thoughts. Allow them to enter, finish the thought and then let it go. Make your way back to your breath and BE. It's not easy, it can be downright aggravating at times. Sometimes sitting for 30min is a breeze, other days 5mins feels like eternity. Practice, ask God to bring you peace in your heart and mind. Find a comfortable seated position, and start listening to your breath, and keep going back to it every time your mind wanders. With all that we have going on in our lives, our past mistakes along with our current fears it's difficult to sit with ourselves. We as humans have a sense of not being worthy, or inadequate, it makes it hard to love and accept ourselves. Which in turn makes it hard to love and accept others. It's when we learn to sit with exactly who we are, realizing and accepting our faults, because we are after all only human born in and of sin; to me, that is meditation. See more
