What is the purpose of saliva? Drool, saliva, spit, or whatever you call it is much more important than you probably realize. That clear liquid is made up of 98% water and is partly responsible for keeping the oral microbiome balanced. Saliva keeps the mouth moist, helps break down food, fights germs, protects the dental enamel, and prevents gum disease. Too little saliva can lead to serious oral health issues. Be sure to stay hydrated and talk to our dental team if you experience dry mouth.

December is Hand Washing Awareness Month! This is an important reminder for the end of the year to wash your hands correctly to help stop the spread. Using warm or cold water, lather your hands with soap and rub them together vigorously for 20 seconds. Rinse well, then dry your hands with either a towel or let them air dry. Clean hands are happy hands!

New 5.0-star Review: "I have been going to this practice for more than 40 years. It was hard to make the change to a new dentist after Dr. Buck retired. But I could not be happier with my experience today. Dr. Weissich was very careful and the complex treatment was pain free. He explained everything very well and it was obvious that he and his assistant were familiar with the newest techniques."

New 5.0-star Review: "As a previous patient of Dr. Buck's I was used to excellent dental care and Dr. Weissich and his staff have continued with that same excellent care since Dr. Buck's retirement. They are all very professional and knowledgeable in what they do and everyone is kind, considerate and helpful. Dr. Weissich is easy to talk to and will answer any questions that you have about what he is doing. He explains what he is doing and makes sure you are comfortable durin...g a procedure that may cause anxiety. From routine cleaning to crowns and fillings, I have never been disappointed in the work that was done. Appointments are scheduled well and I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes after I arrive. They are always prepared. All questions about insurance, billing and treatment plans are answered efficiently. I highly recommend Dr. Weissich and the staff at WDental!!" See more
