The next monthly military show in Southern California is May 30thth. ( Finally it is coming back) The SOCALMICS show is held the last Sunday of every month, except December in Bellflower California. It is held at the Bellflower Eagles Club, 9816 Cedar Street, Bellflower, California 90706. The meeting starts at 7:45am to 12pm. Admission is $3.00 per adult. Tables are $12.00 each. We would advise you to arrive early as a lot of the sellers start leaving around 10am. There are about 50 tables, and this show has been going on for over thirty years at this location. The July 24-25 OVMS Show at the Roberts Centre was a success - Thank you!! Our members, exhibitors, and public guests made our July 24-25 Wilmington Show at the... Roberts Centre a great success! The OVMS appreciates your participation and attendance under difficult conditions brought on by the Covid 19 virus. Our society exists to bring to the collecting community the finest militaria shows anywhere. We take that obligation very seriously. It was our pleasure to host a show that was both large enough to be worthwhile for collectors and still as safe as possible for everyone to attend. Much of the credit for the success of this show goes to the Robert Centre. It was the cooperation of the Roberts Centre’s lead sales representative Angela Reagan and her staff that made the full hall expansion for social distancing possible. We sincerely appreciate all who attended for their willing compliance with the Covid rules your cooperation made this event possible. We are now working on the November 6-7 show. Some are already calling this the Mini MAX. While that is probably an exaggeration, it does suggest what could happen at the Roberts Centre when things return to normal. Dare to dream big! The officers and staff of the OVMS

West Coast Historical Military Collectors Show 25.09.2020

Dear Members- I really hate to have to announce this but in all honesty have been kind of expecting this. I contacted the team at the Fayetteville Fairgrounds ...last week, after I saw the announcement that the MAX show was being cancelled. Since they were the week after us, I crossed my fingers and sent the email. Unfortunately, the response is what I was expecting. The Fairgrounds did not say flat out that we had to cancel the show, what they said was they had to wait and see what the Governor of North Carolina announces in the next three weeks. I asked them to shoot straight and they thought it was probably best if we rescheduled for next year. So I have committed that ASMIC will still hold it’s annual show in Fayetteville, it just won’t be this year. We have rescheduled for September 9-11, 2021. If you have already paid and would like to roll the payment over to next year, we can easily do that and thank you. If you want a refund please contact me and we will get it figured out. Most all the payments we have received have already been paid to the fairgrounds, but we will try and figure something out that won’t hurt the society’s finances. Again, I am very sorry to have to make this announcement, as I am sure a lot of us were looking forward to seeing friends, adding items to collections, and just returning to a little bit of normalcy. Thank you for understanding and working with us. Bob Chatt ASMIC President

It is with sincere regret that we announce that the 2020 MAX Show in York, PA has been cancelled due to restrictions related to the COVID 19 virus. Particularl...y the social distancing requirements would have forced us to either drastically reduce the size of the show or move it to several different locations around the fairgrounds. If you have tables reserved for this show, they will automatically roll over to the 2021 show. You will lose nothing. If you have rented hotel rooms, you will need to cancel them ASAP. We will inform you of all the details very soon. Keep your eyes open to the OVMS website, Facebook page, and the JUST THE FACTS newsletter for all the most up-to-date and factual information. Do not listen to rumors, check first with the OVMS. Bill Combs OVMS Business manager

West Coast Historical Military Collectors Show 27.08.2020

It's official - as of Monday July 6, the Wilmington Show (July 24-25) is a "GO!" Our revised show plan was cleared by the Health Department, and we are on track... for our 'better late than never' Wilmington Show. It will be a little weird. (What isn't these days?) The Roberts Centre has graciously allowed us to use the bulk of the facility, so we will be spread out with huge aisles for our customers, and very spacious interiors for the dealers. Sanitizer stations will be available at intervals throughout the hall. Participants will be asked to maintain a six-foot distance from one another in any queue (that's one way to get a nice line out the door!) All participants will have their temperature checked with one of those contactless thermometers as they enter the hall. AND, all participants will be required to wear face masks. On that topic, we understand completely there are a variety of opinions about the wearing of masks. Some of our members believe that these are critically important. Others believe them to be useless annoyances, worn only to appease those who have overdosed on fearmongering. Please don't make it your mission in life to convert the OVMS to your way of thinking on this issue. We honestly don't care who is right, only that this is what has been deemed necessary in order to have the show. If the powers that be insist that we all go full Madonna and wear our underwear on the outside of our clothing.. if it is a choice between that and not having a show, then we will laugh about it, but we will do it. Help us out here, don't fight us on the mask thing. Enjoy the wide aisles, don't bunch up in the queue, be patient while waiting to be zapped by the thermometer, wear your 'bikini burka' and enjoy the show. One truly important requirement, though - IF YOU FEEL ILL - STAY HOME!! Also please be aware that should the governor make a sudden change or adjustment to the Responsible Restart Ohio program, this could impact our ability to have the show. Currently there is no indication of any such change, but you should check the OVMS website and / or Facebook page for any updates prior to your departure. If you see no news there, that is "good news." We are very much looking forward to seeing you there. Not saying that just to be nice like we usually do - we really do mean it this time!

Today should have been the day we would be packing the trucks and heading to Pomona to start getting ready for the West Coast Historical Military Collectors Sho...w, and tomorrow should have been set-up. In some ways I am really bummed we are not having the show and in others ways it is kind of a relief to not have to worrying about all the extra rules in place right now. Now to just look forward to May 2021 for the next WCHMCS...... See more

To all of our dealers, friends and customers that we care deeply aboutWe are sad to announce the rescheduling of the upcoming West Coast Historical Militaria Collectors Show. As you know, our annual event occurs every May, however, due to increasing COVID-19 concerns and a recent executive order from Mayor Garcetti to close all LA County entertainment venues (including The Fairplex/LA County Fairgrounds), we have been given no choice and the show has been forced to reschedul...Continue reading
