You might have heard stories on the news, or seen cases in the paper about kids being kidnapped, but, contrary to those beliefs, adults can also be victims of kidnapping. You might not even realize you are committing a crime and kidnapping the alleged victim. For example, you get into a huge fight with your girlfriend on the way home. She asks you to let her out of the car, but it’s late, so you pull her back into the car and drive her home. The next day you wake up and are being accused of and arrested for kidnapping but, how?

If you've been arrested or accused of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, here's what you need to know: 1. Make NO statements to any third party regarding allegations made against you in ANY form; via text, email, Facebook, etc... 2. The moment you are aware of these accusations you should IMMEDIATELY contact a criminal defense attorney and speak to NO ONE else, answer no questions. You're only response should be, "I would like to speak to my lawyer." 3. If we are contacted soon enough we may be able to avoid criminal charges being filed against you.

Fact and tip of the day (what you need to know!!): I never encourage anyone to drink and drive, however, knowing people do, if you are stopped for a DUI, do not take any field sobriety tests, or the PAS test, in the field. Police use all of these tests as evidence to convict you of this charge. Without the tests, the police will have to rely on how you talk and walk, at the stop, and the subsequent test at the station or blood test, at the hospital. You can refuse to take ...either of those tests, but, that makes the consequences with the DMV, more severe, should you lose a hearing with the DMV. But, that being said, this will make your case in court have less evidence to convict you. Adding a couple choice words with law enforcement, at the traffic stop, add to the defense that your arrest had more to do with attitude than alcohol. Again, with Uber and taxis and friends and family, to rely on for driving, I always advise against drinking and driving...Save your life and the safety of others, as well as 1,000's of dollars in fines and attorney fees. I hope you never need our services, but if you do, we'll be there for you. God Bless you....David Wallin See more
