This La Jolla whole house remodel underwent an amazing transformation into a beautiful Mediterranean home. The original home was built in the early 1970s and ma...ximized the allowable footprint not allowing us to change any exterior walls. When we met the Homeowner their primary goals were to bring some much-needed curb appeal, take advantage of the panoramic ocean views and create an open floor plan conducive for entertaining. Since we wanted to spotlight the view, we decided to flip the layout and place most of the bedrooms downstairs and place the kitchen and family room upstairs to enjoy the amazing sunsets. The upstairs was designed with an open floor plan, allowing the homeowners to enjoy working in the kitchen while spending time with their family and guests. The project started with taking the home completely down to the framing, allowing us to raise the ceilings, redesign the layout, and update the home's infrastructure. As the project continued to transform from a 1970s two-story home to a stunning Mediterranean-style beach home, the homeowner decided to add a custom space fit for an actual President, the ultimate home office.
