We have a problem: There are more Solar job opportunities than students!! Please help me spread the word: Do you, or someone you know want to be working full-time by Jun/July? I am looking for students who want a career in Solar!! We are offering CT-144 this Spring, Fri Evening (5:30-9:45) and Sat (9 a.m. to 3:40 p.m), for a six unit, 16-week course. It’s a challenging course, but the rewards are worth it. Upon conclusion of the class, successful students will attend... a hiring conference and will very likely immediately land a job that pays between $13-16/hour to start, with a $2-4/hr bump, typically in the first 6-9 months. We have 6 solar companies that regular attend with the intention of hiring our program graduates. Solar is hot. Our previous 5 classes have had high rates (80-90%) of employment. We offer it in the Spring on the weekends like this, so working folks have a chance to get educated/trained and get into a great career. If you don’t want a job, then we ask that you don’t sign up. If someone is interested in electrical work, construction, helping the environment, working lots of hours, and working in a growing, fast-paced industry, Solar is for them. About 50% of our graduates become installers as the entry-level job, but the other 50% do all kinds of other jobs in the industry: 1. Electrician 2. Electrical Inspector 3. Site Surveyor 4. Sales 5. Management 6. System Designers (must know AutoCAD) 7. Project Management (organize job files, customer relations, run permits --- office work) This is a CAREER, with lots of opportunities to grow, to promote, to earn higher wages, and to get into different areas of Solar and construction in general. Please feel free to forward this e-mail to people you think might be interested. Call me with any questions! My phone #: 760-245-4271 x2817. Or come by Construction Tech and we can talk about the program and the opportunities. Attached is a pamplet. Take a look. As a department head and instructor, it’s a lot of fun watching folks find a good career. And, as the class fills, don’t be afraid to go on the wait list. We’ll add you up to a total of 35 students! So far, we’ve never turned anyone away!! Help yourself or someone you know change their life!! Cheers, Tony Bonato Construction Tech
