Apex Project Highlight: The Biosolids Digester Facilities Project (BDFP) The Southeast Water Pollution Control Plant (SEP) was built in 1952 and is SFPUC’s largest wastewater treatment facility, treating 80 percent of San Francisco’s sewage and storm water flows. Apex Project Highlight: Tesla Water Treatment Plant This treatment plant uses ultraviolet disinfection and chemical feed facilities to treat the Hetch-Hechy water source and can treat 315 million gallons per day. Apex Project Highlight: The Lynbrook High School Field House Addition and Restroom Remodel project This is a #DSA project that requires state safety standards to ensure that students, faculty and guests can occupy safely built facilities. Apex provided special inspections and testing on the building of new Fitness Center/ Weight Room, Dance Studio, and PE Classroom. Apex Project Highlight: SCVWD Pentiencia Delivery Main / Force Main Sesimic Retrofit Awarded Best Project in the category of Water/Environment in Northern California, this project was the first project of its kind in the U.S. with a pipeline this large in diameter. This seismic retrofit project replaced large sections of about 835 feet on three large pipelines at the Penitencia Water Treatment Plant in east San José. With a lifespan of 50 years or greater, these pipelines will help to secure the delivery of safe, clean water to the residents of Santa Clara County for years to come. Apex’s scope of work included: QA/QC, concrete sampling and testing, soil compaction, reinforcing steel, steel pipe welding, coatings and lining, structural steel welding.

Ownership of the 12-story, 60,000 sf residential building with 98 apartments is being transferred from the City of San Francisco’s Mayor’s Office of Housing to Mercy Housing, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable, low-income housing. Apex project spotlight: The #SCVTA State Route 237 Express Lanes Project (Phase 2) extends express lanes operations from Zanker Road in San Jose to Mathilda Avenue in Sunnyvale by converting the existing HOV lanes to express lanes. The lanes extend about 2.9 miles in the westbound direction and 4.8 miles going east toward I-880. Phase 2 is an extension of the SR 237/I-880 Express Connectors Phase I Project, which converted the carpool lane connector ramps at the SR 237/I-880 ...interchange to express lanes.
