This is Rosanna Carrillo. I am a living miracle. As a kid I couldn’t see myself living past 20, this year I will be 46. I grew up in a dysfunctional home. My f...ather was an alcoholic with an extremely violent temper. Unfortunately, my family & I were the recipients of that violence. As a child I was exposed to things that I am sure most kids don’t experience. I witnessed my brother pulling a trigger that would have killed his pregnant wife & my father if the gun had not jammed. I have seen my mother beaten, my brother addicted & my sister leaving as far away as she could to escape the hell that we were all trapped in. At 9 I was already using drugs, drinking & getting tattoos. By 14 I was fully emerged in a life of crime & violence. I was one of 3 females in an all-male gang of which they jumped me into. By 15 I was dealing drugs & rapidly coming up the ranks which led me to a recognition that I would later pay for with everything that I had. This lifestyle almost cost me my life had it not been for the saving grace of Jesus Christ. At the age of 19 I was facing a 25 to life sentence for carjacking, armed robbery & kidnapping. But God had a plan & he shut the prison door & opened the door to the VOSJ Women’s Home. I have been saved for 26 yrs & have lived the most amazing life traveling the world preaching a message of hope & plan of Jesus Christ to those who are lost as I once was. #peopleofvoi See more
