After 10 long months apart, our Visions Global Empowerment India staff and community-based educators got together for the first time to reflect on the past year and celebrate the coming New Year! We are looking for a candidate who is excited about the prospect of working with teachers to create fun e-learning games, gamifying content for young learners, writing original stories and working for a growing grassroots nonpro...fit organization dedicated to social change. The TabSchool Program Officer will assist the Education Program Manager with a range of tasks, including content creation, workshop planning, research, database management, testing new platform features, quality assurance of games, partner communications, and other related assignments. We seek highly motivated, self-driven candidates with strong interpersonal skills and a professional background in development / fundraising who can help us to grow and manage a wide r...ange of partners and donors in support of our global education and development work. This position will report to and work closely with both the Visions Executive Director and the TabSchool Education Director. Very proud of our Visions Ethiopia team for persevering through difficult times and many challenges in building our new Visions Center for the Deaf in Awassa and expanding our network of youth who are Deaf that come access our services.

Situated on an existing coffee estate, our school is surrounded by beautiful mountains and sprawling coffee farms. While we are taking efforts to environmentall...y restore / reforest the majority of our land, we are replanting coffee in certain areas with beautiful, healthy plants and are following best organic growing practices. Visions is looking for 8 U.S.-based Kindergarten teachers who are willing to participate in a 2-day paid virtual workshop (for which compensation is $500/teacher). https://www.visionsglobalempowerment.org/careers

Thanks to the generosity of so many of you, we have now secured sponsors for 20 of our 25 university scholars in India who were in need of technology support in order to meet the demands of their now all-online learning. We have been gradually purchasing & handing out tablets to these young scholars, all of whom are exceedingly grateful. We are still looking for 5 more sponsors ($180/tablet or $900 total) in order to reach them all, so please help if you are able!

With classes transitioning to virtual instruction only, many of our Visions Global Empowerment India university scholarship recipients found themselves without any technological device with which to learn. To address this need, we committed to provide tablet devices and bluetooth keyboards to those who needed support. We have purchased the first half, but are still in need of financial support to reach them all. The cost is just $180 per student. In honor of International Week of the Deaf, Visions signed the World Federation of the Deaf Ry's Charter on Sign Language Rights for All. Signatories to the Charter can be individual persons, organizations or government entities.
