Former doctor Manuel Tanguma sexually assaulted our client Michelle, a 70-year-old widow. During an appointment, Tanguma asked Michelle a range of sexual questions and kissed her before exposing himself. After separate complaints surfaced about Tanguma touching other patients inappropriately, he resigned from his position and surrendered his medical license. A doctor's office is the last place to expect sexual misconduct, and someone of power should not victimize those in their care.

A recent study from the University of Chicago revealed that Catholic priests molested more than 100,000 children not including potential victims outside the church. Former EMT David Carpio sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in an ambulance. The minor, represented by Jessica Pride, reported the assault to the hospital staff where authorities arrested Carpio. As a result of the reported incident, other Carpio victims have come forward as well. Despite trying to back out of his plea agreement, Carpio faced nine felony counts of sexually assaulting two additional underage girls. He is now serving ten years in prison. Coming forward after a sexual assault can be scary, but all it takes is one person to make a difference.
