Serve Receive & At-Home Drill brought to you by VIBE Trainer, John Xie aka Master Xie From Coach John: It's a closed circuit drill that teaches angle formulation. Many players have trouble dropping their shoulders with the proper arm spacing. This combines random/fun/specificity all in one. So the chance or rentension goes up. ... Player gets 5 chances to angle left and right. We run through it 2 times. Once the learning of shaping proper/early angles are complete. Pass 10 balls from zone 5 and 1 over the net to cary on the retention. Moving with angle in in mind makes consistant angles to run the middle. Serve Receive is one of the toughest skills in volleyball to master. Progression will not only come from good coaching, visual learning & tips from experience but it comes with REPS, REPS and more REPS!! DEEP DISH HAT TRICK What is a deep dish? When a setter holds the ball for too long or the ball drops too low in front of the setters face. Your ref will call it a lift When should you deep dish? On the beach! Great setters can switch up their technique to have slower smoother hands on the beach and then have faster, higher contact on the court! ... How to cure your deep dish? Disciplined reps!! Try our VIBE Hat Trick VIBE Hat Trick: 1 grab a 2 track the ball to the brim of the hat 3 contact & set the ball before the ball touches the brim! *use video for visual for example Verbal Keys: 1 Higher contact point 2 quicker release 3 extra tip: use your legs quicker Parker made a crazy fast adjustment after doing this drill!! Tip for booking Semi Lessons: Book AT LEAST 7-10 Days in advance!! WHY? We are limited on court space and it is filling quickly!! It’s harder to accommodate Semi Lessons since there are 2 athletes involved. No problem though!!! We just highly suggest booking early to guarantee your court space! Also, make sure your buddy signs up at the same time as you!... Are you able to book one half but not the other? It’s because the court is too full.... Trying to book but you get a notification that no rooms are available means that the court is full at that time (although the trainer may be available).. So.. long story short... book in advance to secure your preferred trainer, day and time! Don’t say we didn’t warn you
