In keeping with that same spirit, do you know about our efforts to add more passenger rail service to Monterey County? If not, here's where you can learn more about the plan to make it easier to travel to and from Monterey County to the Bay Area: https://www.tamcmonterey.org/monterey-county-rail-extension Now, here's your Cone Zone Report with the planned road & lane closures for next week: https://www.tamcmonterey.org/tamc-cone-zone-report

Currently there is no safe access for vehicles, bicyclists or pedestrians through the Highway 1/Rat Creek washout. The slide area has been secured, heavy equipment is being mobilized and engineering crews continue doing damage assessment and monitoring up and downslopes for potential further instability and movement. Thanks for your patience and cooperation.

The Safe Routes to School survey aims to gather community input and create a comprehensive plan for traffic safety improvements near schools. This will allow the City of Salinas to prioritize and build projects strategically rather than responding to the traffic issue of the day. Having a Safe Routes to Schools Plan in place will also make the City more competitive for grant funding, which is available through Caltrans’ Active Transportation Program. For more information, visit www.ecoact.org/planningsalinas, find us on Facebook or call 831- 515-1364 to give input over the phone. #SafeRoutesToSchool #SRTSSalinas
