Remembering our Fallen: Fifteen years ago, on September 22, 2005, the California Army National Guard's Sgt. Michael Takeshi Sonoda Jr. was killed by an IED that... struck his vehicle in Baghdad, Iraq. He was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with elements of the 1st Battalion, 184th Infantry (AASLT). Please take time today to remember Sgt. Sonoda and to keep his family, friends, and all those affected by his loss in your thoughts and prayers as we honor the lives of our Fallen Comrades.

The members of the Scotts Valley Police Department will be holding a memorial service for the passing of our K9 Atlas. The service will take place on Wednesday ...9/23 at the 1440 Multiversity ampitheater at 2:00 PM. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we have partnered with Robert Aldana who will be live streaming the service via the My Scotts Valley Facebook page. We ask those who wish to view the service to watch via live stream as there is limited capacity at the event. A vehicle procession will travel from the police department to the 1440 Multiversity going up Scotts Valley Drive beginning at 1:40 PM. Those who wish to show their support can stand on Scotts Valley Drive for the procession to pass before watching the service via live stream.
