Attention, Californians! We have until August 31 to convince our state legislators to pass SB 54 + AB 1080, a proposed law to cut waste from plastic packaging and single-use products by 75% by 2032. DON'T WAIT - TAKE ACTION NOW! Call & email your state Senator and Assemblymember and urge them to VOTE AYE. Here's where to find your rep and what to say: https://camustlead.org/ And please SHARE! #CAMustLead #Yeson1080 #YesOn54
Beach cleanups play a crucial role in enabling us to learn more about the types of plastic ending up on our beaches. Last year, we held over 900 cleanups across the nation, which are now helping us find solutions to marine litter. Click the link below to read our 2019 #BeachCleanupReport which highlights the last year of our work. Learn how you can help us track plastic litter and host your very own #SoloBeachCleanup https://www.surfrider.org//surfriders-2019-beach-cleanup-r

Hey you! If you've been surfing in the last few months, do us a favor and fill out this questionnaire. There has been thoughts that red tide can contribute to respiratory conditions and Southern California Coastal Ocean Observing Systems is trying to find out more information. We appreciate you taking the time for SCIENCE!
Today is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and we want your help. While we cannot celebrate this Earth Day in person, we can still come together virtually and urge decision-makers to take climate change action. Click the link in our bio to join us as we celebrate some of the places that we cherish most, and defend them for future generations. #earthday #SurfriderEarthDay : @morganmaassen ... https://www.surfrider.org/coastal-blog/entry/earth-day-2020
This is hard. It might be the hardest thing we’ve all ever done and we are doing this together. If there’s any silver lining, it has to be the knowledge that we are in the middle of the largest act of personal sacrifice since World War II. That deserves recognition and thanks. We thank you all for your sacrifice. by Paul Towers

BEACH CLEANUP Join us Saturday, December 14th in Redondo Beach for our last beach cleanup of 2019. We will set up just south of the pier from 10am to noon. Come help us close out the year with a clean beach
SOUTH BAY SENTINEL WATER QUALITY REPORT Predictably after the rains we will have some areas of the South Bay that you probably don’t want to go near. Breakwater in Redondo, MB pier and 27th Street MB all tested with high levels of Enterocci Bacteria. Ballona Creek area also tested high for EB. The rest of our beaches are in the clear so paddle out and catch this swell. SURF REPORT We are on the tail end of a muy primo swell. The rest of the week doesn’t look all that b...ad and the weekend looks potentially epic with a solid WNW expected to hit Saturday. Stay safe. Stay informed. Stay stoked. #protectandsurf : @portosurfer
