Important study on the VB-MAPP from Baylor University. Results suggest moderate to strong content validity for the assessment, which supports its intended use.

In our most recent publication, we have established analogical responding via either tact or listener training. Our results show how adult participants may engage in previously acquired verbal behavior to solve complex tasks. The paper will appear in the special issue dedicated to Dr. Murray Sidman. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com//aut/4EPTB92P7MRQXHU9GM6R

In this recently published study, we tested a protocol for teaching preschool children with autism to ask why-questions when told they could not have something. These children would then use the information provided to ask additional questions (who and where) that would lead to whatever they wanted. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s40616-020-00141-2

In our recent paper published in JEAB, we produced conditional (listener) relations and cross-modal equivalence classes using an alternative to the traditional matching-to-sample procedure. Our results have potential implications for how we teach listener and symbolic behavior in the clinical setting. Moreover, it describes a procedure in which auditory stimuli can serve as comparisons. The paper is based on Karina Zhelezoglo’s thesis and will appear in the special issue dedicated to Murray Sidman.

The field of behavior analysis just lost one of its founders. In addition to his scientific contributions, Jack Michael was a renowned expert in Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior, having mentored many students on the topic. There would be no Verbal Behavior Lab without him. His legacy will be carried on.
