Today we want to highlight one of our AMAZING instructors, Laura White Ludvik! Laura has more than 19 years of field experience and she continues to be a leader in professional fundraising and development. She serves as the Director of Development & Community Engagement at Support The Enlisted Project (STEP). This organization promotes financial responsibility and long-term self-sufficiency among military and veteran families. As a San Diego native, Laura has worked in her c...ommunity throughout her philanthropy career and she is driven by a desire to build equity. She is a recipient of the San Diego Business Journal's 2011 Women Who Mean Business Award and a San Diego Metro Magazine’s Top 25 Mover and Shaker. You may remember Laura from the Military-Connected Fundraising Academy Accelerate, our recent workshop Fundraising from Your Kitchen Table, and other trainings. Laura’s advice for emerging fundraisers is, Fundraising is not easy. The needs in our communities are insatiable. But taking it one cause, one person, one vote, one animal at a time, and working to enhance your community is something to be really proud of. Help us thank Laura for everything she does for her community and to help the next generation of fundraisers!

The biggest takeaway from the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy is that it's all about the relationships. When I first got into professional fundraising and development, I had this notion of what fundraising is and what a fundraising professional looks and acts like. Through SIP training I learned that there is no single image of an excellent fundraiser. Even though I am young and I am not a seasoned fundraising professional, I can still be a very successful one. Because of the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy, I had the courage to go for the position that I am in now. - Jacqueline G., Fundraising Academy Graduate We’re so proud to serve and inspire individuals like Jacqueline through our resources and Fundraising Academy! Fundraisers, what’s your best advice for someone just starting in fundraising?
