Thank you for your continued interest in Velocity Bike Parks. We have been encouraged by the interest. The costs associated with developing the park have exceeded our current capabilities and we have decided to forego the development of the Felton Meadow property. Velocity still remains. Starting November 1, check out our revamped website for class times, guided trail rides, and mountain biking adventures that will be based out of our current location. We cannot wait for you to be a part of these exciting adventures! Velocity programs are a go it’s time to ride!
Come let the City Council know how important it is to include mountain biking trails in the Santa Cruz Parks master plan. See you there!
We all love the trails in Santa Cruz! Sign this petition to voice your opinion to make more trails legal for mountain bikers. Your signature matters!
I think Meredith Wires, from Sacred Rides Mountain Bike Adventures, said it best: MOUNTAIN BIKING CREATES SOCIAL CONNECTIONS "I recently watched a TED Talk by Harvard researcher Robert Waldringer, entitled What’s Makes a Good Life? Lessons From The Longest Study on Happiness - want to know the secret to a good life? Well, according to Robert’s study it’s high quality social relationships. The closer you are with friends and family, the happier you will be in the long run. So, what does this have to do with mountain biking? EVERYTHING. Mountain biking encourages trailside chats with bike buddies and post-ride beverages to debrief the ride and talk about life. Mountain biking brings people together, to teach each other new skills, learn from others and create memorable experiences in beautiful places."
The morning fog is lingering off shore. Where are you riding this week? Get outside and enjoy all Santa Cruz has to offer! #ride831
Thank you IMBA for advocating for mountain biking. How are you advocating for mountain biking? Trail stewardship, becoming an IMBA California member, join Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz, supporting the local bike shops, saying hello to fellow trail users. "It was an excellent exercise in being able to recognize that we can all work together in a very tangible way, Laurel said And, it was super empowering for the folks there to realize that mountain bikers should be lobbying for our own issues [at the state level] because we’re a large-enough and important-enough group
Hope to see you there!
Thanks to all that have put in endless hours working on the trails and fire roads so that the Flow Trail will be open for summer. Can't wait to ride it again!
Mark your calendars! This meeting is a must for riding in Santa Cruz County. The Parks and Recreation Department has recognized the need for legitimate trail access for mountain bikers. Now it is up to us to show that we support these new trail ideas by letting the Parks and Recreation Commission know that this is what the mountain bike community wants!
We are so excited for the Santa Cruz Old Cabin Classic mountain bike race this Saturday, May 13. Come and cheer on racers riding some of the best trails Wilder Ranch has to offer. There's something for everyone- kids riding area, local artists, live music, delicious food and drink options, and a Vintage Bike Museum!
We are enjoying a great Saturday at Bicycle Trips bike fest.
A great write up about Mountain Bikers Of Santa Cruz. So stoked to have such a great organization in our county that care for the trails and mountain biking.
Got plans on Saturday? Head to bicycle trip for a great family event complete with an awesome bike stunt show, bbq, and kid activities. We are excited to have our booth there to continue to get more support for the bike park. #bicycletrip #morekidsonbikes #biketowork
