Nominations and voting for the new executive board have concluded, and the board for 2020-2021 cycle is as follows: Jan Noz, Chair Diana Slade, Co-Chair Communications Coordinator, Joanna Boval... Media Coordinator, Paul Chavez Treasurer, James Seddon Please join me in welcoming the new board.
Larry Darwent did not only have a great soul and great photography skills but was a member of the UC San Diego Police Department. He also served in the military... where he enlisted into the US Marine Corp at an early age. Larry was also part of the VSA committee as Co-Chair where he spent many hours providing support to veterans and their families within the San Diego community. This memoir serves as a legacy to his impact in this world. Please take the time to read Larry's short biography and view the images of his milestones.
Beautiful way to reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day.
Dear UCSD Veterans Staff Association Members and Affiliates: We hope you, your family, and your friends and colleagues are staying safe and remaining healthy. We want you to know that we are thinking about you during these challenging times and hoping you are finding productive ways to manage stress and anxiety. Although we are all practicing safe physical distancing, it is important for all of us to stay connected as a community to ensure no one feels left behind. We’ve got ...your six! Below is a list of a few helpful resources that we have collected from our campus and community partners that you can add to your self-care tool kit. Keep in mind, there are many other organizations providing self-care tips, and the list below is not comprehensive. We can all participate through ways that practice physical distancing by checking in on our family, friends and neighbors via telephone, email, social media or a Zoom/Skype chat. Please also remember to check-in on our most vulnerable: our elderly neighbors, single parents and those with no family in the area. We look forward to connecting in person when we are all able to safely come together for our monthly meetings, and campus and community service projects. In community, VSA Board
