Ring in the Christmas season with Vanguard University’s 24th annual "Christmas Fantasia!" This year, our beloved musical celebration of joy and hope is coming to your home for the holidays. "Christmas Fantasia: Home for the Holidays" will feature everything you know and love from your favorite Christmas tradition all from the comfort of your home. This virtual event will feature beloved carols and musical masterpieces performed by Vanguard’s nationally known vocal and instrumental ensembles. Vanguard’s Living Well Community Resource Center has been fully operational throughout the COVID-19 shutdown and has continued to fight food insecurities within the community. Living Well was recently featured on ABC7 and you can read more about it in the latest edition of the vanguard magazine. Link below! When recent graduate Ecstassy Mendoza ’20 and her classmates began to notice a rise in food and housing insecurity throughout their fellow students, they teamed up... with Chair of the Sociology Department Dr. Stephanie D’Auria, Professor of Sociology Dr. Hien Park and Associate Dean of Student Success Amanda Lebrecht MA ’09 to understand and solve the problem. "I remember a chapel service in 1964. Our administration and faculty had labored toward regional accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. That day two great heroes walked into chapel together. They were Dr. O. Cope Budge our President, with L. E. Halverson, our District Superintendent and chairman of our board. It was official. Vanguard had become the first regional accredited college in the Assemblies of God!" Richard Varnell ‘66 shares one of his favorite memories of Vanguard! This past Friday we celebrated the 6 month anniversary of the grand opening of the Waugh Student Center! As gatherings continue to look a little different we are so thankful to have a dedicated space for students, staff, and faculty, to come back to soon!
