The Women’s Civic Improvement received a grant to assist low income senior citizens pay their rent, utilities and to purchase food. Seniors must be 50 years or older, make less than $25,000 per year, and live within the City limits. Seniors may call 916-457-2524 to make an appointment to review eligibility and are asked to leave their name, phone number, and current ZIP code on the phone line.

The Sacramento City Council will be considering a proposed ordinance to ban the use of portable blowers when the Air Quality Index (AQI) is 101 and above to protect public health and safety.
