This float was built for the Redwood City 4th of July Parade in the late 1960's by June Huntsman. Although no plans exist for it's construction, the Eagle head and body was made from formed chicken wire over a wood frame.

This float, built by Valley for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses(tm) was the 1971 grand prize winner, and the highlight of 20 years of float building for that parade. The driver was located in the top of one of the rear floral columns. Uniquely, there was no lower framing to this float. The 4 columns were only connected with reinforced steel through the overhead canopy. The carriage & ponies were separate & connected to the float only by the white bar crossing between the front and second row of horses. After this parade, Valley Decorating stopped building floats to concentrate on manufacturing. Valley had won the Grand Prize (the best commercial float) 9 out of the last 10 years we participated.
