It took time, but I figured it out. This gizmo was printed in my office to seal my mask against my face. To put it in dental terms, it seals your masks margin. You can’t help the Hannibal Lecter look though!

At what point do we draw the line between cosmetic/porcelain and functional dentistry? ( Not to imply porcelain can't be functional.) Case study of John: One of the most accomplished referees (retired) of NBA. Officiating finals during Magic, Kareem, Bird and McHale era. He is 82 and in a great physical shape. Works out six days a week with very healthy eating habits. ... His life is now devoted to voluntarily coaching inner city kids. I've been maintaining him for more than 20 years. CR/CO shift and a severe bruxer. Gags on both Upper or Lower Night Guard. Can not stand partials, full mouth rehab and Implants are not financially feasible. #15 Palatal root finally fractured and he lost upper left bridge last year. Decay on right side bridge was observed during his routine exam and discussed his options. "Doc, I have to be able to eat on one side. Please do whatever is takes."

This is what makes it worth my while, he placed couple of his own pictures in his review. "I've been a patient of Dr. Kafayi for 25 years, so I've had 50 cleanings by now, and a wide variety of work done on my teeth and gums. One thing I've noticed and admired is that the staff has been *exactly the same* for the last 20 years! Most recently I was very happy with the beautiful result of some major work: a dental implant on my upper front tooth. I was nervous as this is the m...ost visible tooth in a person's smile, and getting the color and shape and function correct was important to me. My old tooth had to be extracted, a titanium post anchored into the jaw bone and more over several months. The good news is that the implant turned out to be a perfect match visually, and functionally it feels strong too. Check out the photo below and see if you can tell which tooth is not my original. My overall assessment is that the practice tends to trend towards the advanced side of technology including modern digital tools/imaging, showing Dr. Kafayi's interest in innovation. He and his staff are strong practitioners with good technique. They do tend to concentrate on their work in your mouth, and are not very chatty, so if you're the type of patient that wants to know "what's happening at all times" and "what's about to happen next" and "when is something going to hurt" (which is totally reasonable, as I like that too), then be sure to speak up in advance and in the early part of the relationship to see if they can adjust to your preferences. In summary, I feel comfortable being in a friendly, experienced, competent and "forward thinking practice". See more
