Day 11 leading up to the FREE delivery of 800 meals on Christmas Eve at the Vacaville Veterans Memorial Building. Today Ted Anderson, a Vietnam Era Army Veteran, delivered more boxes to the Veterans Hall that were donated by the nice folks at WINCO in Vacaville. We want to thank Ted and WINCO for getting us hundreds of boxes which will be filled with meals and delivered to the community for FREE on Christmas Eve. As we get closer to the December 24th, we will need donations of store bought pies and dinner rolls. Day 3 at the Vacaville Veterans Hall where we are preparing to deliver 700 to 800 meals on Chrismas Eve to the community for FREE. With me today is Joe Bock who served in the USAF from 1964 to 1968. He has been volunttering at our Holiday meals for the last several years and we want to thank him as he is moving to Texas in the near future. We still need 15 Turkeys and 320 lbs of ham. Day 2 leading up to the Free Christmas Eve meal delivery by the Vacaville Veterans. Counting all of my turkeys and hams today - we have 35 turkeys and 13 hams. We need 15 more turkeys to reach our goal of 50 and 22 more hams to reach our goals of 350 lbs. If you can donate, we are at the Vacaville Veterans Hall every day until December 24th. We are asking for your help with a female US Navy Veteran that is homeless and had her car impounded and is requesting assistance. I have checked her out with the VA and the County Veterans Service Office and she was in the Navy 4 years with an honorable discharge and did have a tour in the Gulf on the USS Roosevelt. She is requesting monetary assistance to get her car back from Vacaville Tow Company. We have $200 thus far and need $2200 it goes up everyday. Thank you to Cesar Mendes & Cesar Almazan and the entire team from CAM Construction and Painting of Vacaville for their generous donation of 50 hams and 20 turkeys for the Free Thanksgiving dinner deliveries and curbside pickup. Thanks to them we will make our goal of 800 to 1000 FREE meals on Thanksgiving Day to the surrounding community.
