UUSLO would like to thank Idler's Home for their generous donation of a freezer we will use as new partners with the SLO Food Bank. This large freezer (shown fully stocked in the photo) allows us to safely store a wider variety of fresh and frozen food for our neighbors and community members in need. We can also better manage inventory to offer more consistent and healthy foods to our clients on a weekly basis. Congregation members Dave Schmit and Barbara Curry helped organize this new program with the Food Bank. We are so grateful for the opportunity to quickly launch our food distribution program during this time of critical need in our community, said Barbara.

Love Will Tear Us Apart I’ve always been intrigued by this provocative title of a song by Joy Division. Lately, I’ve been wondering how this shows up in our world. Does love, in being a threat to current systems, appear threatening to some? Is love, in being a challenge to fear, also disruptive to perceived security? Rev. Rod Richards will offer the sermon this Sunday, Feb. 21, beginning at 10:30 a.m. People can join the Zoom link both before and after the service for socia...lizing. Religious Exploration for families, children and youth will begin at 11:30 a.m. on another at another link. Go to UUSLO.org for details about how to connect to all of these from your telephone, smart phone, tablet or computer.

Side With Love What if to side with love meant making bold, faith-full choices? What if it were even a little bit scary? This worship service brings together worship leaders and musicians from across the country to offer hopeful, moving, challenging reminders about what we, as Unitarian Universalists, are called to do, and BE, in the world. The Sunday, Feb. 14, service begins at 10:30 a.m. People can join the Zoom link both before and after the service for socializing. Re...ligious Exploration for families, children and youth will begin at 11:30 a.m. on another at another link. People of all sexual identities and gender expressions are unequivocally welcomed in our Beloved Community. Therefore, we at the UUA are celebrating the Biden-H...arris administration’s historic support for transgender Americans through executive orders. This administrative support is important and we will continue to uplift our trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming communities. See more

When I Know I’m Right It is difficult to open myself to opposing or even alternative viewpoints when I know that I’m right. And yet, I must support what I believe is right when confronting what is wrong . . . right? How do we balance compassionate listening with courageous conviction? Rev. Rod Richards will offer the sermon this Sunday, Jan. 31, beginning at 10:30 a.m. People can join the Zoom link both before and after the service for socializing. Religious Exploration... for families, children and youth will begin at 11:30 a.m. on another at another link.
