U.S. VETS 08.11.2020

Community Friends, As our world changes with this current COVID-19 crisis, we remain steady and committed to serving our 600 veterans both in transitional and permanent housing on campus and another 350+ veteran families throughout L.A. County. During this time of uncertainty, we are still providing housing, meals and supportive services to all our veterans. As the landscape continues to change daily, our staff at U.S.VETS-Inglewood are working hard to monitor CDC and Depart...ment of Public Health recommendations and taking precautions for the health of each veteran we serve. We have increased our cleaning routine, postponed events and activities, created eating shifts for our dining hall, and worked to create healthy social distancing for everyone on campus. We have also created smaller staff teams that will take on weekly shifts to ensure that critical services remain in place, such as 24/7 residential assistance, three daily meals, case management, and therapeutic support. Even with fewer staff on site due to this crisis, our leadership staff will be working remotely and remain available. Veterans are the true example of perseverance and resilience in critical and hard times. We must now be resilient for our veterans. These men and women are vulnerable to homelessness, job loss, mental and health issues, and lack of community connection and support. Won’t you join us in the mission of combating veteran homelessness? Do you know of a veteran in need, please contact our Program Manager Kevin Kincey at 310.863.5837. We are here to help. If you would like to assist us during this crisis, our COVID-19 Veteran Emergency Relief Fund will go towards helping veterans and their families with emergency rent/housing, food insecurities and motel nights for those who need to be quarantined for the safety of others. To make a secure online donation, go to www.usvetsinc.org/inglewood. Every amount counts during this crisis! Thank you for being a committed supporter of U.S.VETS-Inglewood and our veterans! Shout out to FAAAM Outreach Foundation for showing up today with much needed canned goods and fresh fruit for our permanent housing veterans feeling the real threat of food insecurity due to job furloughs, terminations or reduced hours of employment due to COVID-19. U.S.VET-Inglewood is in need of more organizations & companies who can help with fresh & non-perishable food for our 400 permanent housed veterans on campus.
