For those of you who are new to THV, this program is a great option for pre-health students who are looking to volunteer in the hospital, develop a firmer understanding of the medical field as a whole, and learn with and from likeminded peers.... For more details and the link to the new student application, please visit our website (uscthv.wordpress.com), which has a syllabus, calendar, volunteer site info, testimonials, and more. Applications are due on Friday, August 26th, 2016 at 11:59pm. All applicants must also attend a MANDATORY info session on Monday, August 29th at 6:30am.*** If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]. ***NOTE: The application and info session are only for NEW, prospective THV students. Published on CBS LA a couple days ago. This is what Dr. Neil Chawla was discussing during his event this past Wednesday - homeless patients being "discharged to the streets." I definitely recommend you use this article as a jumping off point to do more research on the specific hospital cases. They definitely put Neil's entire talk into perspective. http://losangeles.cbslocal.com//good-samaritan-hospital-n/

Super neat speaker event happening tonight at HSC! https://www.facebook.com/events/923914931017629/ Best way to get to the room:... 1) Get off the intercampus shuttle at Eastlake and San Pablo 2) Walk uphill on San Pablo past the first building (the Doheney Research Center) and the alley next to it 3) Walk into the entrance of the second building (the entrance paving is some kind of black and white stone) 4) Walk into the building and make a left 5) Keep walking straight until the end of the hallway - there should be a door there with stairs to the second floor 6) Come out of the stairwell on the second floor, walk straight until the large windows, then make a left 7) Walk down that hallway. The door to MCH 256 will be on the left about halfway down the hall
