We are sad to share the news that Sun-Yoon Lee, Korean Studies Librarian/Multimedia Collections Librarian in USC’s East Asian Library passed away on January 16, 2021. From Catherine Quinlan, Dean of the USC Libraries: "Sun-Yoon began her career at USC Libraries in 1999 as the Korean Studies Librarian in the East Asian Library; she became the Multimedia Collections Librarian in 2007. Prior to coming to USC, Sun-Yoon worked at the University of Texas, Austin, and University of... Illinois, Urbana/Champaign. She was an engaged member of the profession, serving on countless committees of the Council on East Asian Libraries, Association for Asian Studies, and presenting regularly about electronic resources and supporting library services using technology. Sun-Yoon was an exceptional librarian and generous colleague who was committed to supporting USC’s students and faculty. Sun-Yoon will always be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and gentle spirit. Our hearts and prayers are with Sun-Yoon’s family and friends." We are grateful to have worked with her and will miss her presence at USC.

Aeneid Theatre Company, a student theatre group here at USC is creating a series of audio-dramas centered around USC's history. One of the audio-dramas is about the Ahn Family, and they are looking for Korean students who would be interested in voicing the characters in the audio-drama. Contact [email protected] for more info. "Land has memory, buildings have memories. The untold stories that haunt the quads and dormitories of this campus are crying out to be tol...d. This Fall ATC will research 6 histories based on physical locations on USC’s campus, particularly with an eye to underrepresented communities, and turn them into socially-distant audio-theatre experiences that can be listened to either while walking around USC’s campus or from home. For too long these pieces of history have gone unrecognized, and our goal is to help create a more thorough narrative of USC’s past, present, and future. We need YOU, yes YOU voice actor, to AUDITION for ATC's Audio-Drama. To do so, please fill out the following form: https://forms.gle/a767Q7kQN3B12VoE9. Prior experience voice acting is not required! Auditions for this project will consist of audio recordings. The week of September 28th you will receive an email with text to read and instructions on how to submit your audio files. Audition audio files must be submitted by 11:59 PM PDT on Friday, October 2nd. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us. We can't wait to HEAR from you." See more
