Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department Partnering with Recycle for Veterans for Beach Cleanup On Saturday, June 5, 2021 at approximately 10 a.m., the Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department along with Recycle for Veterans will be conducting a beach cleanup at Venezuela Cove, 2970 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. June 5th is recognized by the United Nations as World Environment Day. The purpose of this day is to acknowledge we cannot turn back time but we can ...reimagine, recreate and restore natural habitats and environments throughout the world. Port of San Diego Harbor Police officers are tasked with protecting San Diego Bay and this event, with volunteers from Recycle for Veterans, is just another way to accomplish that goal. Recycle for Veterans is a veteran-owned organization whose goal is to show the world that a group of motivated people can make a difference. The Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department is proud to partner with Recycle for Veterans to help be environmental champions for the waterfront, our tenants, and our community. http://ow.ly/jRkQ50F3uT9
Good morning, San Diego!
Whether you’re a morning person or evening person, the #Wonderfront has some of the most scenic spots to enjoy the sunrise or sunset. One recommendation is Harbor Island Park, a perfect spot with views to the west, and golden shimmer on the skyline to the east. Sit with a loved one and take in the moment together during these first days of the year. Visit portofsandiego.org/wonderfront for a list of scenic spots and outdoor activity options for the new year!
Although many events have been canceled, the great outdoors is not. Visit any of the Port’s 22 waterfront parks or beaches along Chula Vista, Coronado, Imperial Beach, National City and San Diego for a walk, run, picnic, or quiet time with a book. There are plenty of options to enjoy a nice day while following the current safety guidelines. Plan your day at the #Wonderfront and visit portofsandiego.org/wonderfront. San Diego Bay doesn’t just belong to all of us - it belongs to each of us. Trash Trooper Troy’s message is loud and clear: ‘Stache your trash! Don’t pass it up, pick it up. Together we can protect marine life, coastal animals, and each other from the perils of a polluted port. It only takes a couple seconds to properly discard waste. We can do this San Diego! Think: garbage can not a garbage can’t. #ThatsMyBay https://www.portofsandiego.org//thats/take-care-your-trash
The Port Master Plan is essentially the Port’s water and land use law. The intention of an updated Port Master Plan often referred to as the future of the Port is to serve as the primary tool for balancing environmental, economic and community interests along the San Diego Bay waterfront for the next 30 years. Review our Revised Draft PMPU and give us your feedback - portofsandiego.org/pmpu.

Tick-tock, tick-tock, the Port crew restored the clock! Originally designed and built in 1986 by master clockmaker Wilbur Wemer, a nautical clock is mounted on the B Street Pier, Cruise Ship Terminal. Recently restored and re-installed, the clock is a site to see and hear! Unlike ordinary clock bells which strike on the hour according to the time, the nautical clock chimes with ship bells every 30 minutes. Take the time to visit this hidden gem and many more along the waterfront, learn more at portofsandiego.org//discover-hidden-gems-along-san-diego-b

We’re all spending more time at home and while our pups may be our best friends, they aren’t as nice when it comes to cleaning up after themselves. Pet waste is a common stormwater pollutant that impacts our water quality and can introduce harmful bacteria into our ecosystem. Make sure to #ScoopthePoop to keep #SanDiegoBay clean for us and the fishies! #ThatsMyBay Learn More: https://www.portofsandiego.org/environment/thatsmybay

A major milestone, our Revised Draft considers and reflects extensive and valuable community input received on the Discussion Draft released in April 2019. At this step, the Port encourages and welcomes additional public feedback and looks forward to continued community engagement that is so essential to this process. As part of its mission to create a vibrant waterfront experience, the Port offers free arts and culture events for the community.
